 What is Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance?

MPPI is an insurance policy that covers your mortgage payments if you become unemployed or cannot work because you've fallen sick or had an accident.

 Who provides this Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance policy?

This type of insurance is available from various insurers, one of whom is Cardif Pinnacle Insurance who we can put you in touch with.

 If I'm unable to pay my mortgage, how long will I be covered for?

The Cardif Pinnacle Insurance MPPI product can protect your payments for a period of 12 months.

 What exactly can I be covered for?

With Cardif Pinnacle's MPPI product, you can cover all or part of your monthly payment, plus an extra 25% (up to a maximum of £2000) to cover mortgage related expenses such as household bills and home insurance.

 Who is eligible for MPPI cover from Cardif Pinnacle?

You are eligible for cover as long as you:
  • are aged over 18 years and under 65 years
  • are permanently resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man
  • have been in continuous employment (including self-employment) for six months at the time of application
  • are owner occupier of the property secured with a mortgage
  • are not aware of impending unemployment

 Do I have to have a Standard Life Bank mortgage to take out this cover?
